sandman issues?

so i have had issues sleeping this week. weird dreams, not sleeping through the night, blah, blah, blah. i have talked to a few people i know and they have all said that they were having issues too. so my non-east coast friends/relatives, how have you been sleeping? is this just an east coast thing? my friend marcia thinks it is the moon. but it isn't full anymore so i don't think that is it.

It is so strange that you blogged about this! I slept really well last night but the few nights before that I didn't. I just thought I was too hot and that led to strange dreams but maybe it was something else. I had very vivid dreams. They were the sort I call anxiety dreams (even thought I am not feeling anxious and stressed) because they were very graphic and almost violent. Do you know what I mean?

I had a horrible time sleeping last night. I blogged about it, too.

ack... i've had a terrible time sleeping for months. just recently i ran out of my daily multivitamins that were supposed to give me "high energy," and since i've run out, i've been sleeping OK.

maybe a coincidence, but while i was taking that brand my sleep patterns were horrible: fall asleep, wake up, wake up, wake up, toss, turn, get up and watch tv and usually fall asleep right before it was time to start the day.

i was looking for advice online, and i actually found something that said: if you're having trouble sleeping, pretend it's time to get up and go to work.

erica suggested melatonin, and i'm gonna ask my doctor if it's ok for me next time i go. i'll let you know what he says/if it works!

wow, so i guess it isn't just an east coast thing. i wonder what it is in the environment that causes us to be this way? jen, that multivitamin sounds like it was what was spurning along the sleeplessness.

Hi Kate! Erica forwarded this to me, so I thought I'd add my two cents. :-)

I haven't been sleeping well either, waking up consistently around 4am. Finally I figured out what was triggering this for me. The heater kicked on at this time, and is quite loud (those damn New England water heater thingies!). In addition to the initial clatter, the heat is strong and I'd wake up overheated. Sounds like temp changes in the night has also been a factor for others.
